SAIC is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS). This role will provide specialized administration, maintenance, and operational oversight in accordance with the SIE OPORD and DoD secure‑messaging requirements. AMHS Administrators must possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, along with deep technical knowledge of Government messaging infrastructure, enclave configurations, and cross‑domain messaging workflows. Because AMHS is a mission‑critical enterprise system supporting TSOCs, Components, and strategic/tactical communications, administrators must demonstrate proficiency in secure messaging protocols, system continuity, and rapid fault isolation.
AMHS Administrators monitor, maintain, and control mid‑range application servers hosting AMHS services, ensuring message delivery, routing integrity, and system availability. They review and interpret system operating instructions, validate configuration baselines, and execute system manipulations in accordance with established procedures to sustain operations during hardware, software, or messaging‑queue failures. Administrators coordinate closely with software engineers, cybersecurity personnel, Vendor and DISA PMO when system anomalies require changes to configurations, routing logic, or operational sequences. They maintain detailed operating records, message‑flow performance logs, user accounts and system‑health reports to support compliance and audit readiness.
Typical AMHS‑Focused Duties:
• Install, configure, and maintain AMHS operating system software, patches, and upgrades across messaging servers and supporting infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and message‑flow issues such as routing failures, queue corruption, and delivery anomalies.
• Monitor server performance, message throughput, storage usage, and system health to ensure optimal operation.
• Conduct backups, recovery actions, and continuity‑of‑operations procedures to maintain message retention and system resilience.
• Build AMHS servers and integrate enclaves while ensuring compliance with DoD messaging standards and SIE configuration requirements.
• Support virtual components used by AMHS operators and message center personnel.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AMHS administration, workflows, and enclave configurations.
• Provide system administration for environments hosting complex databases, routing tables, configuration controls, and system interfaces.
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot AMHS user accounts and application‑specific anomalies.
• Maintain file servers, network access, and connectivity; document and resolve performance‑impacting issues.
• Support identity management functions including AD/GAL sync, account provisioning, and role‑based access controls.
• Provide directory services support (DNS, GPO, AADC, ADFS, DFS, Domains & Trusts, Sites & Services) that underpin AMHS authentication and routing.
• Support PKI functions (digital signing, encryption, certificate management) and resolve PKI‑related issues such as middleware or certificate failures.
