Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Systems Administrator to join our team! The successful candidate will join a team of specialized engineers dedicated to solving wireless signal processing and analysis challenges.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Establish, manage, and maintain computer network infrastructures and computing environments, particularly those employed for dedicated software development/test requiring secure remote access
- Implement and maintain Linux-based data processing systems supporting U.S. Government software development and engineering design efforts
- Install, configure, manage, update, and rebuild servers, security appliances, peripherals, services, settings, directories structures, storage, software, operating systems, etc.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources etc.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization, as required, and conducting regular and ongoing security monitoring and auditing
- Diverse opportunities for ‘out-of-the-box’ problem-solving that must be expressed using verbal, and written communication skills to foster a collegial and collaborative approach to working with team members.
- Develop and maintain internal engineering documentation (e.g., IT policies, procedures, timelines, etc.)
- Perform tasks to support Information Assurance and Network Accreditation requirements as needed.
- Research and provide recommendations to purchase hardware and software and coordinates installation
- Create Onboarding/Offboarding Configurations for New Employees
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- TS/SCI w/Poly is required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline specifically related to area of specialty. Additional years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Minimum of 10+ years of related professional experience
- Experience with Planning, Coordinating, and performing migration of applications and data processing systems as required
- Knowledge of networking, system installation and maintenance of software
- Demonstrated knowledge of user login authentication schemes and repository management
- Familiarity with Administration of Windows Clients
- Experience with source/version control systems (Git, GitHub)
- Demonstrate problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Three (3) years of experience in a system administration and/or network engineering role performing tasks like those described above
- Two (2) years of experience with Linux/Unix environments
- Two (2) years in a role that requires IT Security compliance regimes and standards for systems supporting storage and processing of Covered Defense Information (CDI), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), For Official Use Only (FOUO) information, export-controlled data, or other similar information categories; knowledge of security requirements and control regimes for classified information processing systems is a plus.
- Two (2) years supporting teams through the full software lifecycle—including requirements definition, design, software development, implementation, and test & verification—to be able to effectively support related efforts as a system administrator
- Level of understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), RF engineering or spectrum theory, communication systems design and operation, electronic warfare, machine-learning algorithm development, or artificial intelligence techniques.
