Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain physical/virtual server OS (Windows Server 2019/2022, RHEL 8/9), SAN/NAS (NetApp ONTAP), and VMware vSphere/vCenter
- Administer user accounts and security groups for in-scope Active Directory domains
- Operate data backup and recovery (Veeam) meeting Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective for mission-critical systems
- Manage enterprise tools (SCCM, SolarWinds) and support critical service restoration priorities during contingencies
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of enterprise systems administration (Windows/Linux server, virtualization, SAN/NAS, Active Directory)
- DoDM 8140.03 foundational qualification prior to start; Residential Qualification for privileged access
- Experience in a DoD/Army enclave with STIG-hardened systems
- Backup/DR tooling experience (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with SIPRNet-connected mission systems
Certifications
- DCWF Work Role 411 - Systems Administrator, Intermediate proficiency. Common qualifying certifications: Security+ or CySA+, plus a computing-environment certification (e.g., Microsoft/Linux/VMware)
Security Clearance
- Secret clearance
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
- Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Mission Essential on-site reporting during base closures/contingencies.
