Are you energized by solving technical challenges and supporting teams to achieve operational excellence? As an IT Systems Administrator I at Vermeer, you will help maintain and support the technology foundation that powers our production, product development, and manufacturing environments. Your work ensures critical systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with Vermeer’s mission and values.What You’ll Do
1. Support and maintain core information technology systems, including Windows Server, Linux Server, and Windows desktop operating systems or environments, ensuring systems are configured, patched, monitored, and functioning reliably.
2. Assist with network infrastructure fundamentals such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and local or campus network environments by collaborating with team members to drive continuous improvement and system stability.
3. Provide frontline troubleshooting and incident response, documenting issues, following standard procedures, and resolving service tickets within defined service levels.
4. Support enterprise business systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms and collaboration tools, ensuring technology effectively enables business operations and enhances customer experience.
5. Maintain and support collaboration technologies, including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Teams Rooms hardware (displays, cameras, microphones, control panels), fostering a connected and inclusive environment for global and cross‑functional teams.
6. Participate in an on‑call rotation to respond to high‑priority system or infrastructure issues during designated off‑hours, contributing to business continuity.
7. Uphold Vermeer’s commitment to innovation, security, and operational excellence through proactive system monitoring and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience in system administration or desktop support, such as internships, co-ops, or relevant roles.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop operating systems, and Linux Server or desktop environments, including basic configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Foundational understanding of network infrastructure concepts, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and local or campus network environments.
- Exposure to enterprise business systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams), with an understanding of how information technology systems support business operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills, including documenting issues, following standard procedures, and resolving tickets within defined service levels.
- Ability and willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation for high‑priority system or infrastructure issues.
- Experience supporting collaboration and productivity platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Teams Rooms hardware or similar conferencing technologies.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required.
