Job Summary: The candidate will report to the hiring manager and serve as a programmer/technical lead for Bosch Building Technologies, responsible for developing custom DDC logic for various sized jobs with varying complexities using the Tridium/Niagara Platform and/or Distech software tools and configuring high-level GUI workstations within those and other BMS Software environments. By integrating complex third-party protocols and performing real-world software tuning, the programmer will ensure that advanced HVAC sequences and network architectures are executed precisely to meet project specifications and budget goals.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute complete project Building Automation Controls logic and Graphical interfaces to meet scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring protocol interoperability and integration.
- Develop and implement custom control logic using Tridium/Niagara Platform and/or Distech, (DDC Programming) to meet complex sequence of operations.
- Design and configure Honeywell or Distech projects, including all hardware and software requirements.
- Perform advanced integration of third-party devices via BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus, or LonWorks into the Tridium/Niagara, Honeywell environment.
- Perform point-to-point checkout and software tuning to ensure the programmed logic performs as intended in real-world conditions.
- Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most effective and functional manner.
- Suggest edits or provide detailed sequence of operations as required.
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook electronic e-mail system.
- Maintain clear documentation of design systems, wiring diagrams and software configurations.
- Provide mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level 1 positions as needed.
- Proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio CDT preferred.
- Assist Sales team during estimation/bid phase of the project by providing design support (as needed).
- Collaborate with Project Managers to assist in generating Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify and resolve design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary.
- Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems as needed.
- Facilitate with external customers/vendors as required to ensure accurate and timely project DDC software.
- Assist in managing the timeline, budget, and coordination as it pertains to Programing, Start up and Commissioning of the projects.
- Provide support to Bosch Building Technologies and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the control’s operation.
- Ability to work remotely with remote teams and assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field. Prior work experience in the building automation field can supersede a degree.
- 3+ years of direct experience programming Tridium/Niagara or Distech Systems.
- Ability to use Wireshark or other diagnostic tools to diagnose communication "traffic jams" or duplicate device IDs.
- Experience designing and building DDC logic for HVAC control systems, including developing sequence of operations and equipment selection as needed.
- Strong understanding of project documents, scopes of work, and the ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field. Extensive (10+ years' experience) work experience in the building automation field can supersede a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC, building automation programming with Tridium Niagara (N4/AX) or Distech software, and control logic (DDC).
- Assisting in project estimation, budgeting, and scheduling for BAS components.
- Proposing cost-effective technical solutions.

Additional Information:
- Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
- Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 annually (DOE)
- Travel Requirements: 0-5% annually
