We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. - Develop and own vehicle-level safety cases for driving functions and platform integration
- Translate safety analysis into clear, implementable safety requirements and constraints
- Apply ISO 26262 Part 3 (Concept Phase), Part 4 (System Development), and Part 9 (analysis & decomposition)
- Work across vehicle features (braking, steering, ADAS, body functions) to identify risks and define mitigations
- Hands-on development of safety artifacts aligned to road-driving features (e.g., hazard analysis, FMEA, safety case structures)
- Collaborate with HW, SW, and integration teams to ensure safety is correctly implemented end-to-end
- System level working knowledge and good exposure to HW FMEA’s for vehicle safety case measures.
- Support vehicle bring-up and validation with safety checks aligned to system behavior
- Create and maintain safety artifacts (hazard analysis, FMEA, safety case, traceability)
- Experience with or willingness to support mining / off-road vehicle safety programs
- Familiarity with ISO 19014 or ISO 13849
- Exposure to system-level hazard analysis and safety requirements for heavy machinery
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in functional safety or systems engineering, preferably within an OEM or Tier-1 ADAS program.
- Hands-on experience in vehicle-level safety case development
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and road vehicle features enablement
- Experience working in OEM / Tier-1 / vehicle programs preferred
- Experience with HARA/HAZOP, System FMEA, and safety case derivation
- Good understanding of vehicle systems (ADAS, braking, steering, control systems)
- Ability to bridge system, hardware, and software interactions
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
