About the Role

Are you energized by solving new challenges every day?  Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can explore a wide range of technologies and build strong customer relationships?  If so, join Analog Devices’ Aerospace, Defense, and Communications (ADC) System Platform Engineering team.

As a System Platforms Engineer, you’ll serve as a critical technical bridge between Analog Devices’ cutting-edge analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing technologies and our strategic customers across the U.S. You’ll support the full product lifecycle—from architecture and design to field deployment—by delivering software solutions, technical insights, and hands-on support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert software support for Analog Devices’ Aerospace, Defense, and Communications System Platform products.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and product lines to deliver tailored system solutions and grow market share in the Aerospace, Defense, and Communications sectors.
  • Propose and develop system-level software solutions and new product ideas.
  • Support customer software development and debugging efforts.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable requirements for internal software teams.
  • Guide internal development teams by identifying customer pain points and proposing tool improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between field teams and internal software groups, helping navigate internal processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders (Product Line Management, Marketing, Applications).
  • Deliver training sessions and technical seminars for customers and internal teams on Analog Devices’ software tools and platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • BSEE or equivalent (MSEE preferred).
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in:
    • FPGA platforms and tools (e.g., Xilinx, Intel)
    • Low-level communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, TDM, CAN)
    • Embedded software and device driver development
    • Programming languages: C, C++, Python, Shell scripting
    • Operating systems: Linux (Real-time OS experience like FreeRTOS is a plus)
    • Version control (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, JAMA)
  • Solid understanding of electronics and embedded systems (GPUs, DSPs, CODECs, microcontrollers).
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers) for debugging.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of working independently or in teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional software experience: C#, .NET, Java, Powershell, MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with network stacks and PC-based application development.
  • Experience with licensing tools and software compliance practices.
  • Prior engagement with OEM or Tier 1 customers.
  • Knowledge of development standards, documentation best practices, and licensing.
  • Background in field applications engineering or system-level design.
  • Broad experience in RF, microwave, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Mentorship and coaching skills for supporting design teams.
  • Excellent lab measurement and debug capabilities.
