Omnion Power is seeking a System Test Engineer for the System Integration Test (SIT) Team. In this role you will perform compliance testing and certification of DC Power systems during new product development and change management. The major charter for this position includes:
- Support of NEBS (Network Equipment-Building System) Testing
- System Integration Testing (SIT) of system products
- Support resolving complex customer field issues.
In this role you will provide engineering support of SIT with the following responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal/external customers and internal technology teams to develop detailed test plans for SIT of DC battery backup systems.
- Interpret technical specifications, schematics, and block diagrams.
- Set-up and perform system testing for NPI, VAVE, failure analysis and sustaining projects.
- Prepare detailed test reports documenting product test data with pass/fail criteria, scope plots, and equipment details.
- Report all non-conformances to the appropriate Quality and Technology teams through Devops bug cards and communication with responsible engineers.
- Follow EH&S safety requirements such as LOTO and help maintain lab to stay in compliance with LEAN audit items.
- Support customer requests for information/test reports and assure timely and accurate completion of all action items.
- Help plan and perform customer witness testing on industrial products as needed.
- Maintain and continually improve the SIT lab.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
- 2 years of experience in design or test of power electronics or electrification products
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in testing battery plants with high feature system controllers.
- Experience analyzing system failures and determining root cause.
- Experience with testing of DC Power systems.
- Experience with various communication protocols: Modbus, SNMP, DNP3, T1317, Telnet, ssh
- Effective collaboration with external customers and technology teams in US, Europe, and Asia to provide solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to solve complex quality issues related to DC power systems.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and PTC Windchill.
- Knowledge of scripting and programming tools such as Python to assist in analysis and automation of data collection.
- Experience in thermal analysis to support design improvements of DC systems.
- 2 years of experience creating/interpreting schematics and block diagrams
- 2 years of experience/proficiency with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and data logging instruments.
- Experience with developing/executing/documenting market based and customer specific System Integration Tests.
- Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to fellow internal project stakeholders.
