System Industrialisation Engineer

Introduction to the job

ASML supports the Semiconductor industry’s ongoing quest for producing faster, smarter and more energy efficient chips (IC’s). ASML creates lithography systems that the Semiconductor Industry needs to achieve their goals. 

Electrical Layout (EL) is the system that provides electrical power to all subsystems of the machine and includes human safety architecture as well as machine damage protection systems. 

The Industrialization Engineer is responsible to ensure serviceability and manufacturability as well as operational cost of the EL system in ASML products. He or she does so by means of co-design, integration, validation and introduction of new products and processes.  

Secondly, continuous improvement of the installed base with respect to operational requirements also falls under the responsibility of the Industrialization Engineer. 

Role and responsibilities

• Leads a complex technical design or has ownership of a module that requires contribution from several engineers. Starts thinking about modules / influences other parts of modules; oversees several components that are linked (module).
• Leading on mono-disciplinary designs / projects, taking industrialization into account.
• Works with engineers of teams of adjacent /collaborating FCs/ICs, interfaces within team of a train or multiple products.
• Interfaces with suppliers or customers as member of a larger team.
• Looks at problems from multiple known angles and proposes different ‘out of the box’ solutions to choose from, in an environment with technical uncertainty. Balances between quality and timely delivery.
• Acts autonomously in own area of expertise, working independently on complex design engineering tasks, defines design solution. Works towards given results, with freedom to decide how to realize these.
• Independently applies and adheres to quality standards (e.g. D&E handbook).
• Guides 1-2 engineers in development of specific part or module.
• Responsible for driving the industrialization of our systems with a cross-sector approach to design for maturity, deliver work preparation and close the operational feedback loop. Contributes to system level KPIs linked to Availability, Reliability, Cycle time and/or Costs. Integrates and verifies the PGP industrialization deliverables for availability, sequences, diagnostics, cost of goods and upgrades. Innovates on industrialization product and process maturity to support competitiveness of our future products.

Education 

Bachelor or Master Degree

Experience

• Manufacturing/production environment 
• Customer Support/Field service environment. 
• Industrial Automation environment 
• Maintenance environment

Skills

• Pro-active mindset. Plenty of initiative. 
• Leadership and drive for own deliverables 
• Able to plan ahead own deliverables based on forecasts 
• Team player with excellent communication and writing skills in English.  
• Customer focus, analytical skills, flexible attitude and commitment are key for this role.  
• Willingness for foreign travel, approximately 2 weeks a year
