Sr. System Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Sr. System Engineer who will work hand in hand with all the engineering teams and field applications team to improve our LiDAR products and solutions. 

How will you make an impact? 

• Collaborate cross-functionally with software, electrical, mechanical and system engineering teams to test, validate, and optimize LiDAR system performance. 
• Design and build optical bench setups to investigate key components such as light sources and photodetectors. 
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from both LiDAR units and lab setups to address performance challenges including blooming, range accuracy, and detection sensitivity. 
• Develop and execute test plans for functional verification, environmental stress, and performance validation. 
• Analyze point cloud data and performance metrics. 
• Use simulation tools and real-world data to validate system behavior. 
• Provide insight into data quality and signal processing optimizations. 
• Provide support for field testing and production environments. 

What qualifications and skills will make you succeed in this role? 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, plus 5 years of experience in hardware engineering or field application engineering, preferably within the LiDAR, sensor, or automotive industries, or Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience, or PhD degree. 
• Strong hands-on experience in solving real-world engineering problems. 
• Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for processing data and operating hardware through Linux command-line interfaces. 
• Practical experience in building and working with optical bench setups. 
• Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. 
• Quick learner with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in signal processing and image processing is highly desirable.

What is the Pay Range?

$140,000-$160,000
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, annual base salary for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Seyond. You may also be eligible for the sales incentive plan and equity. In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success.
