Role Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and advancing the core infrastructure and identity environment that supports all Quintessa teams. This role bridges day-to-day IT operations and infrastructure engineering—managing servers, networks, and cloud platforms while serving as escalation support for the Help Desk team. The System Administrator ensures uptime, security, and automation across all systems that enable our
marketing, call-center, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
• Maintain and monitor Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure AD environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and shared-service integrations.
• Patch, update, and back up servers, endpoints, and applications.
• Manage Intune, device compliance, and group policies.
• Support on-premise and cloud network devices (firewalls, switches, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi).
Automation & Monitoring
• Automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Implement and fine-tune monitoring systems (PRTG, Datadog, Azure Monitor) to track uptime and performance.
• Respond to alerts and lead Tier III troubleshooting for infrastructure-related incidents.
Security & Compliance
• Enforce organizational sign-in and access control policies (SSO, MFA, conditional access, etc.).
• Conduct quarterly access, patch, and firewall reviews.
• Support vulnerability scanning, remediation, and documentation efforts.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and maintain DR documentation.
Collaboration & Support
• Serve as the escalation point for Help Desk Tier II staff on infrastructure or identity issues.
• Collaborate with Development and Data teams on integrations and system dependencies.
• Maintain IT knowledge base documentation and contribute to standard operating procedures.
Projects & Process Improvement
• Participate in infrastructure and automation projects led by the Director of IT or SysAdmin II.
• Evaluate and test new tools, platforms, or vendors to improve scalability and reliability.
• Track and communicate project progress using Azure DevOps or similar project management tools.
Qualifications Experience
• 3–5 years of experience in system or network administration.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Azure, and network devices (Unifi, Fortinet, or equivalent).
• Experience supporting call center or marketing environments is preferred.
Technical Skills
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell or Python.
• Endpoint and mobile device management (Intune preferred).
• Backup and recovery tools (Veeam or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (VLANs, VPN, QoS, firewalls).
• Understanding of identity and access management best practices.
Certifications (Preferred)
• CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Google Workspace Admin or ITIL Foundation certification a plus.
