GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a highly experienced System Administrator IV to provide advanced systems administration, configuration management, and technical leadership in support of enterprise IT infrastructure in a remote environment. The candidate will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring optimal performance, security, availability, and scalability of complex multi-platform systems in mission-critical environments.

Essential functions/responsibilities

- Serve as system administrator, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise IT systems
- Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based compute environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Implement and maintain system security controls, ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA, RMF).
- Oversee patch management, system updates, and configuration baselines using automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or SCCM.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, conducting root cause analyses and developing mitigation plans.
- Provide technical mentorship and oversight to junior administrators and support staff.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and security of systems across the enterprise.
- Lead efforts in disaster recovery planning, system backups, and continuity of operations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), system documentation, and configuration records.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and system resilience.

Information Security and Confidentiality Obligations

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity supporting enterprise-level environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration, system automation, and virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid system integration.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing concepts.
- Demonstrated experience implementing security hardening and compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor team members, and interface with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- Experience supporting federal IT systems, including compliance with FISMA, NIST, or RMF requirements.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar enterprise management platforms.
