We are currently looking for a passionate DevOps Engineer to work on designing, implementing and providing advanced operational support for service, server, virtualization and computing/storage service solutions.
With this position you’ll have to develop automation for repetitive tasks, manage CI/CD pipelines for a number of services , monitor hosts and services to identify performance issues, organize upgrades for services, improve security of services, while participating in the design and deployment of new services.
You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical services and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. The team members are professionals, with a mindset to innovate, automate, streamline, and provide value to GRNET and to the users of the offered services.
Your tasks
● Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
● Proactively ensure the highest availability levels of services
● Implementation of changes such as deployments, migrations, maintenance
● Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Your Profile
● Proven working experience (at least 3 years) in administration of the Linux operating system (including security, firewall) and in particular RedHat derivatives and Debian
● 2-year experience in relevant field
● Experience in configuration Management such as Ansible,
● Experience in supporting stack with proxying/load balancing based on Apache, Nginx, HAproxy
● Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery Tools (eg Jenkins), using github, Docker and Jenkins
● Good knowledge of networking fundamentals and Network configuration management (IPv4 & IPv6)
● Familiarity with RBDMS databases (eg. MySQL, Postgres) or with NoSQL databases (eg. mongodb)
Will be considered a plus:
● Experience in installation, configuration, management, optimization of Monitoring Systems (Nagios, Icinga etc)
● Experience in supporting stack with proxying/load balancing based on Apache, Nginx, HAproxy
● Experience in configuration, management and optimisation of MongoDB and relating Replication, High-Availability procedures
● Knowledge of Backup-Restore, Replication, High-Availability procedures for relational open source databases
● Experience with test automation and test-driven development
● Experience with graphing/metrics/logging tools
● Working with agile methodologies
