Operating System: UNIX Sun Os 10 and Linux.
Database: Sybase and Oracle 10g.
Other: Sybase Replication Server.
Responsibilities
♦ Installation and configuration of ASE server.
♦ Login/User creation and authentication.
♦ Creation and Maintain Database.
♦ Handling day-to-day data servers and database issues in production environment like log
segment, temporary database getting filled up, blocking of processes, database performance
etc
♦ Database Backup/Recovery.
♦ Data server disaster recovery (Master corruption).
♦ Database maintenance operations (DBCC, Reindex, Reorg, Update Statistics).
♦ Fixing autosys job failures.
♦ Configuring REP AGENT for database replication.
♦ Performance and tuning.
♦ Providing support to Business users. And application users.
♦ Handling basic IQ server related issues.
♦ Basic DB2 instance related issues.
♦ Handling user's requests through remedy tickets and escalating in right time.
♦ Installation and configure Replication Server.
♦ Regular Replication
➢ Creation of Replication Definition and Subscription.
♦ Scheduling/Creating Autosys jobs through webpage and command line as well.
➢ Setup new/Modify existing Autosys job.
➢ Fixing Autosys job failures
♦ Installation of Oracle 10g on Redhat Linux servers
♦ Secondary DBA support for Oracle Servers
♦ Backup and recovery on Oracle Servers

Skills Required
- Experience with UNIX SunOS 10 and Linux operating systems
- Experience with Sybase databases and ASE server administration
- Experience with Oracle 10g installation, administration, backup, and recovery
- Experience with Sybase Replication Server, replication definitions, and subscriptions
- Experience with database installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Experience troubleshooting production database issues, including blocking, log segments, temporary databases, and performance problems
- Experience creating, modifying, scheduling, and troubleshooting AutoSys jobs
- Basic knowledge of Sybase IQ and DB2 instances
- Ability to support business and application users and handle Remedy tickets
