THE OPPORTUNITY

As Senior Vice President, Commercial Cards Sales, you will engage with companies and organizations to lead strategic discussions focused on growing the commercial cards portfolio and accelerating the bank’s pipeline and revenue realization within the card product suite. You will identify and build new business opportunities, grow card usage among prospective and existing customers, and manage all aspects of the sales process, including prospecting, sales, implementation, and post-implementation follow-up. You will educate customers and deliver solutions that transform their businesses while helping create and drive the long-term sales strategy, vision, roadmap, critical features, and customer experience. You will serve as the bank’s subject matter expert in credit card sales, train bankers and internal staff on qualifying new opportunities, and may promote the bank’s thought leadership by speaking at industry conferences or client events, as appropriate. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Build new customer relationships using the bank’s commercial payment products, including commercial and small business cards, virtual cards, and integrated payables solutions.
  • Design and implement sales strategies to ensure the bank meets its revenue objectives.
  • Partner with and train Treasury Management Officers and bankers to identify ongoing strategic targets.
  • Provide strategic leadership to a business unit by establishing clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for the team.
  • Manage multiple phases of the sales cycle, including initial contact, identification of client needs, presentations and product demonstrations, negotiation, and implementation.
  • Lead conversations with customers about their existing credit card solution usage to gain a detailed understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  • Oversee workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning to ensure the appropriate capabilities exist to meet future needs.
  • Present complex ideas and solutions for effectively managing credit card acceptance, disbursement strategies, and product and strategy implementation.
  • Create and manage comprehensive business development strategies to grow the portfolio and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage multiple complex engagements simultaneously.
  • Maintain broad and technical product knowledge, including competitor product information from banks and fintech companies.
  • Develop strategies for supplier enablement campaigns and their implementation for customers.
  • Develop compatible connectivity and integration options for credit cards, including APIs, file-based processes, and mobile and online banking channels.
  • Partner with product and application development teams on product enhancements, product development, and return-on-investment models.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counseling.
  • Manage, support, coach, and train employees.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 10 years of experience in financial services required.
  • 8 years of commercial card sales or card account management experience required.
  • Knowledge of the cash conversion cycle, invoice management, corporate travel and expense management, and integrated payables.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to be a go-getter, self-starter, and deal maker.
  • Excellent executive skills, including strategic thinking, negotiation, time management, organization, and influencing.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to C-level leadership.
  • Thought leadership within the commercial cards and payments community.
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization to facilitate the negotiation of critical technology matters on behalf of the client relationship team.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects within established deadlines.
  • Strong focus on the customer experience and the courage to challenge the status quo.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • MBA or Certified Treasury Professional certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
