About the Role: As our Sustaining Engineering Team Lead, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and improving our core platform. You'll lead efforts to resolve support escalations, implement strategic, high impact features, and drive systematic improvements across our codebase.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a collaborative sustaining engineering team, tackling support escalations and sustaining "bugs and features" work
- Dive deep into our codebase, becoming an expert in its intricacies and potential
- Provide key contributions to roadmap planning, using insights from your on-the-ground experience with the existing product
- Develop a data-driven approach to identify and resolve generalized, higher level pain points in our codebase
- Interface seamlessly with support, ops, and other dev teams, fostering our collaborative culture
We're Looking For:
- Mid to senior-level experience in software development
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- A systematic approach to tackling complex issues across a large codebase
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to turn metrics into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to various audiences
- Leadership potential and the ability to effectively guide a team
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Rails and React, but we value your ability to learn and adapt quickly over specific language and framework experience
- Experience with AWS, video and media transcoding, or SQL is a plus
- Familiarity with accessibility technologies, captioning, and internationalization is a bonus
