Starting Wage

$40.11 Hourly

Location

Hybrid (On-site work 3 days a week in Vista, CA)

Schedule

7:30 AM to 4:10 PM Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

Compliance & Certification

  • Prepare submission materials and coordinate testing to support state and federal annual corporate environmental compliance reporting and auditing.
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation for new and existing environmental certifications and commitments (e.g. TRUE Zero Waste Certification, California & Vista Green Business Certification, Purpose Pledge, etc.)
  • Assist on-site audits for environmental state, federal, and certification needs.
  • Complete customer or third-party questionnaires to demonstrate compliance with various environmental initiatives (e.g. state, federal, independent standards).
  • Liaise with Director of Operations, Senior Plant Facilities Supervisor, Senior Manager Global Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, and Safety Manager as needed on environmental compliance activities, certification coordination, data collection, innovation and improvement strategies

Impact, Advocacy & Engagement

  • Coordinate and maintain corporate environmental data collection, storage, and analysis: ingredients, water, waste, energy, and GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions for primary and contract manufacturing sites, as well as fair trade impact data collected from through the supply system
  • Prepare annual environmental footprint data (e.g. All-One! Report) and summary reports for internal and external planning, reporting and engagement and communication.
  • Assist in the analysis of environmental impacts, trends, and opportunities
  • Assist with sustainability projects and initiatives that reduce on-site environmental impact and increase efficiencies in areas of solid waste, wastewater, water-use, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy
  • Prepare talking points, attend public meetings (e.g. Board of Supervisor or local city council meetings) and letters of support for company’s environmental and climate justice stances
  • Support Dr. Bronner’s in speaking about the company’s sustainability efforts on panels, webinars, and at conferences.
  • Serve as a liaison for industry working groups as needed.
  • Serve as active member of the Operations Services & Innovation team
  • Other duties as assigned within job scope

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or similar field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 2 years' experience in a fast-paced, collaborative office or manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years' experience performing environmental data collection, entry, and analysis.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.)

Any combination of education and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration for this position.
