Support Engineer - MySQL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Support Engineer – SQL to join our technical support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical assistance and support related to SQL databases, data integrity, and reporting systems. This role is critical in resolving data-related issues, performance tuning of queries, and supporting internal or external clients with database operations and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 2/3 technical support for SQL-based systems, responding to service tickets and incidents related to database issues.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-related problems.

• Analyze data discrepancies and resolve integrity issues using advanced SQL scripting and tools.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and root causes.

• Monitor and optimize database performance using indexing, query refactoring, and server performance tuning techniques.

• Handle data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks to support business intelligence and analytics teams.

• Perform regular audits of data quality and support the implementation of data governance policies.

• Generate ad-hoc and scheduled SQL reports as requested by stakeholders or business users.

• Maintain documentation of known issues, troubleshooting steps, and fixes for the knowledge base.

• Support disaster recovery, data backup/restoration, and system maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• relevant years of experience in a technical support or database role.

• Proven experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SSRS) is a plus.

Below are the minimum Required Relevant Experience for the role :

• 2+ years for Analyst/Senior Analyst 
• 5+ years for Specialist/Team Lead/Consultant

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Experience with SQL performance tuning and indexing strategies.

• Solid understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is an advantage.

• Familiarity with cloud-based SQL platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS) is a bonus.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with non-technical users.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
