About the Role:
Great opportunity available to lead the Supply & Install team to success. As the Supply & Install State Team Leader this unique position is responsible for the respective State Sales & Service of Supply & Install. The role leads a team that delivers on promise, drives high performance across both sales and project delivery whilst managing expense control. This role works with the respective Builders /Organisations State Sales teams and the broader commercial business unit to build a sales plan for mutual benefit. The position is responsible for the ongoing advocacy and engagement of S&I solutions to grow the penetration and adoption rate of both existing and new offers. In conjunction with Suppliers and Installers, plus the internal Bunnings team, the role is focused on bringing the S&I solution to life and delivering profitable growth.
What you can expect to do:
- Lead a team of sales specialists to drive engagement with the S&I solutions across both the Builder and Organisations sales teams
- Deliver the relevant KPI’s that ultimately achieve an Invoiced Sales budget
- Successful delivery of customer projects to both legislated and business standards within contracted dates and terms in order to build Bunnings brand and reputation in the category and promote future new and repeat business
- Manage a team of on site project managers to meet project KPI's, contractual dates, project planning and scheduling, allocation of resources to tasks, critical path scheduling, pipelining project deliverables, and coordination between stakeholders and multiple projects within each state to ensure Bunnings can invoice in full and on time
- Ensure that all contractual and legislative obligations are managed and delivered as required and work to avoid unnecessary delays or costs
- In conjunction with the 'contracts' team, ensure that all S&I and/or Supply only contracts are appropriate to protect the interests of Bunnings whilst delivering a commercially appropriate outcome for all parties
- Provide an escalation point for disputes or concerns throughout the entire process from quote through to project delivery, employing effective problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve issues and keep opportunities and projects on track
- Provide guidance to sales and support teams on the processes of S&I across multiple categories and aid in education around reviewing, revising, and recommunicating best practices to ensure S&I effectiveness
- Build strong working relationships with local suppliers to drive improved quote turnaround and a competitive position for Bunnings
- Work as part of the S&I leadership team to deliver the Strategy, refine its implementation and proactively deliver ongoing improvement that results in improved efficiencies and outcomes
- Manage project reporting and communication to key stakeholders
- Train, coach and develop team in best practice sales and project management across project expectations, deliverables, deadlines, systems, and coordination
- Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of Team (Recruitment, performance management, setting goals/objectives, coaching and training as required)
What we need from you:
- Deep level of experience in building industry
- Experience in building and leading high performance sales and delivery teams
- Strong influencing skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team of specialists to result in sales
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
- Ability to interpret technical building plans
- Building practices and legislative requirements knowledge
- Ability to problem solve and apply technical reasoning to drive business outcomes
- High level attention to detail
- Effective time management skills with ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in deliver sales outcomes coupled with strong commercial and financial acumen
- High level of comfort in dealing with contract law and related building legislation
- Understanding of site safety compliance
- Strong project planning and methodology skills within the construction and building industry
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
- Understand the relationship between S&I projects and the associated project management resource to ensure both the pipeline and team capacity work in harmony and deliver the most effective outcome
