Client Overview: Our client is an Italian multinational tire manufacturer based in the city of Milan, Italy. The company, is one of largest tire manufacturers, and is focused on the consumer production of tires for cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
Job title: Supply Chain Engineer
Mission: The Supply Chain Engineer is responsible for coordinating company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities: • Meet the Management Plan sales, unit sales, profit objectives and logistics costs.• Perform efficiency projects within warehouses, distribution, and transportation for the company within the region.• Specify and evaluate warehouse and logistics equipment purchases.• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, IT, 3PL and supplier teams.• Develop manage and monitor metrics for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), vendor performance scorecards and develop business cases to support logistics changes and/or improvements.• Suggest solutions for process improvements.• Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner.• Prepare stock level projections, identify required warehouse capacity in terms of space, pallets, equipment, and people; align with 3PLs to support business growth.• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:• BA/BS degree required. Preferred in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.• Minimum 2 years experience in US Warehousing and Transportation Industry domestic travel required (25% of time).• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Proven experience and track record on project management skills and supervising multiple projects.• Able to independently research, understand, and present transportation and warehousing metrics.• Working knowledge of TMS and WMS• Strong Interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, problem resolution• Data Analysis - Advanced user of MS Excel• Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred• Working knowledge of SAP preferred• APICS or CSCMP certifications preferred• 3PL Experience preferred• Tire or automotive industry experience preferred
