To help support this we have redesigned the way we operate, aligning the supplier management team to our newly formed tech vertical OD.
As a Junior Supplier Manager you will be responsible for several Tier 2 supplier relationships and service contracts that provide support or services to our stores, distribution centres and home offices from either a hardware, software or license subscription service.
What You'll Love
- Providing business partnering services to tech business units and service owners.
- Ensuring contractual obligations are met through:
- Adherence and adoption of supplier relationship management best practices.
- SLA management - monitoring & performance
- Inventory management - accuracy & compliance.
- Reporting - service monitoring & trending
- Continual Service improvement - tracked & delivered.
- Fiscal management – Annual business planning and monthly forecasting of operating cost budgets contributing to £200m + spend.
- Identification of commercial opportunities to reduce or mitigate cost.
- Contract lifecycle – roadmap of activities including new services, renewals always ensuring compliancy. Identified risks are documented.
- Relationship management – Effective relationships with wider technology stakeholders including service management, legal and procurement teams.
- Contribute to supplier contract scope and negotiations to ensure the best outcome for Asda.
- Experience and a good understanding and appreciation of technology / ecommerce.

- Having an interest in tech! Whilst you will not be writing any code or fixing broken hardware understanding the technologies with the contract you are responsible for is highly beneficial.
- You will be highly numerate & analytical – you will demonstrate commercial thinking and be capable of collating and evaluating data to support fact-based recommendations.
- You will have experience of or a passion for analysing copious amounts of data.
- Excellent PC skills, to include strong Office Skills – e.g. Outlook / Excel and Word
- Effective communication skills with the ability to develop collaborative internal and external relationships.
- A keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- A collaborator with a natural ability to seek solutions and solve problems,
- Your attitude to achieve and learn in a changing environment will be vital.
