Honeybee Robotics is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide organizational support for customer programs and supplier quality requirements. Passion for our mission and vision is absolutely required. Responsibilities:

  • Establish a robust, objective, documented supplier qualification process.
  • Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential mechanical, avionics, and electrical equipment suppliers regarding quality and technical capability.
  • Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
  • Implement an approach to minimize the risk taken when the company transfers work to external vendors.
  • Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives.
  • Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
  • Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions.
  • Focus on nonconformance reduction activities.
  • Perform source inspection activities at supplier locations as needed.
  • Foster relationships with existing and potential suppliers with regular communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in either engineering, science, or manufacturing processes.
  • 10+ years’ industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 5 years in a supplier quality engineering role.
  • Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, and PCB assembly practices.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
  • Competency to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations.
  • Relevant experience in performing supplier source inspections.
  • Relevant experience in AS9100 auditing.
  • Relevant experience with GIDEP.
  • IPC certifications/endorsements.
  • American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification.
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt or comparable certification.
