About the Role
The role of Supplier Quality Development Manager requires seamless collaboration with the regional supplier quality resources to ensure the effective implementation of quality standards across MML's supply base. You will have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative processes and procedures aiming to uplift product quality by improving supplier performance. Supplier quality will be a key focus as you conduct audits, deliver tailored training programs, and work actively towards the development of their capabilities. Simultaneously, you will empower internal teams with comprehensive process and system training to achieve adherence to quality requirements. Your tireless efforts will contribute to maintaining top-notch supplier performance and enhancing overall quality standards within the organization.
To support our Global Purchasing Organization in Europe we are searching for Supplier Quality Development Manager, EU (m/w/x) to join our team as soon as possible.
Your Responsibilities

  • Lead Supplier Quality performance metrics for Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting (MML) and drive quarterly goals to meet objectives including Performance KPI's
  • Support Supplier selection process by assessing new and existing suppliers based on quality performance, capabilities, and compliance with industry standards
  • Assess, certify, and collaborate with Suppliers to improve their quality performance through various activities such as providing process improvement guidance, offering training on quality standards, and implementing corrective actions
  • Conducting periodic supplier audits and maintaining supplier qualification databases and ensure adherence to Policies and Procedures (Job Element Sheets, TS requirements, etc.)
  • Own and lead monthly Supplier Performance Reviews for poor performing Suppliers and manage Supplier performance records in QPF/eRFX; Work with Product Engineering to drive product improvement based on cross-divisional product rejects and returns from OEM and Warranty
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust quality management systems, including effective supplier quality processes, to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements as well as participate in pre-launch program reviews
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints related to supplied parts or materials incl. collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions; Coordinate with divisional Quality Managers in solidifying Supplier Quality Engineers activities related to Quality of purchased components
  • Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with suppliers, including proactive risk identification, developing contingency plans, and supplier performance contingency assessments; Maintain positive relationships with suppliers through effective communication, regular meetings, and training sessions to enhance their understanding of quality expectations and requirements


Who we are looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of quality experience required preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manager/ Leader role preferred
  • Strong analytical/ problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong planning, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to prioritize many different tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and hold accountable a team of Supplier Quality Engineers on site, and remotely in offsite divisions
  • Excellent English skills on C1 level mandatory
  • Knowledge of design output, metrology, and instrumentation concepts
  • Strong understanding of core tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP) and proficient in Business Operating Systems (IATF16949, IMDS, QSI, QPF, eRFX)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time
