Southern Health Partners is seeking a licensed Medical Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician) to deliver clinical care and oversight at the Halifax County Jail in North Carolina. This flexible part-time role allows you to remain active in patient care while partnering with an experienced nursing team in a secure, structured healthcare environment.

 

With an average commitment of just two hours per week, this opportunity is ideal for providers looking to supplement their current practice, stay clinically engaged, or serve an underserved population in a meaningful way.

 Position Details
  • Location: Halifax County Jail – North Carolina
  • Schedule: Approximately 2 Flexible Hours Per Week
  • Position Type: Part-Time Medical Provider (NP, PA, or MD)
QualificationsResponsibilities
  • Conduct routine on-site patient evaluations and treatment
  • Provide medical direction and support to on-site nursing staff
  • Review and approve medical records, treatment plans, and physician orders
  • Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty or outside care referrals as needed
  • Promote quality patient care while following established clinical guidelines
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance standards
 Qualifications
  • Active North Carolina license as an MD, PA, or NP
  • Nurse Practitioners must maintain collaborating physician relationships as required by state law
  • Experience in primary care, urgent care, family medicine, or correctional healthcare preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete background screening and facility security clearance
