Supermarket Assistants – Fresh
We’re excited to announce that New World Point Chevalier will be joining the community September 2025! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across butchery, seafood, bakery, deli, produce, grocery and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors to the Point Chevalier community.
Applications are now open for Supermarket Assistants who are keen to work across our Fresh departments. This includes Produce, Bakery, Deli, Seafood or Butchery. We’re looking for customer-focused assistants who have an eye for quality and can help keep our fresh departments appealing for our customers.
Part-time & Full-time shifts available
Must be able to work one weekend day.
Produce
· Ensuring produce displays & shelves are stocked and merchandised appealingly.
· Stock rotation to maintain produce freshness.
· Effectively resolving all customers related enquiries.
· Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained through completion of appropriate cleaning.
Bakery or Deli
· Ensuring all customers are served in an appropriate and timely manner.
· Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store.
· Ensuring Deli/Bakery cases are full and merchandised well.
· Assisting with food preparation as required and packing of Deli/Bakery products.
· Ensuring the department is clean and tidy at all times.
Butchery or Seafood
· Ensuring all meat displayed in the case is correctly trayed, wrapped and labelled.
· Keeping all meat/seafood cases and freezers full and merchandised well.
· Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store.
· Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained through completion of appropriate daily, weekly and monthly cleaning ensuring temperature checks are undertaken regularly.
· Complete the traceability forms as required.
· Serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner.

· Previous customer service experience.

· Ability to follow health & safety and food safety procedures.
· Eye for detail and pride in presentation.
· A great working attitude and ability to interact with customers.
· Reliable, honest and good team player.
· Ability to follow process and work both independently and as part of a team.
