Internship at Netlight
Join our Helsinki team as a Netlight consultant for the summer to help drive innovative digital projects together with clients and colleagues. Our focus is not just on the digital product, but also on the team and the business impact. We ensure that you gain relevant experience and work on challenging tasks in a real assignment, with strong support from Netlight consultants. The project will be tailored to your and your team's competencies, interests, and ambitions.
In the summer project, you will be helping our client – a business or an NGO – build something new. You will have the opportunity to participate in every phase of the software development lifecycle. This includes designing robust software architectures, developing innovative AI solutions, deploying scalable cloud platforms, and creating user-friendly web applications. You will work with the latest technologies, with your curiosity and interests helping to guide your projects and professional growth.
You will experience:
- A three-month-long internship from May to August, located in Helsinki
- Real responsibilities and work for an external client with full ownership of the project
- Support and guidance from a professional coach, a personal mentor, and colleagues across our global network

Who are we looking for?
You’re driven and curious, excited by both the technical and the human side of digital impact. You’re a master’s student in Computer Science, or a closely related field, with strong academic results. Ideally, you have one year left in your studies. (If you’re graduating sooner, check out our full-time roles!)
We’d also like to see that you:
- Have strong communication skills and are fully fluent in English
- Are interested in modern software development, (such as full-stack engineering, software architecture, AI/ML, or cloud platforms), and have some hands-on experience through internships, external projects, or work alongside your studies
- Are curious to explore new knowledge and learn new skills by cocreating tangible solutions. You turn ideas into reality
- Are driven by the business impact your work creates for the client's business and the end users
- Value a culture where networks and collaboration support knowledge sharing and problem solving
- Are based in, or ready to relocate to, Helsinki for a summer adventure. The work will mostly happen on-site at the Netlight office or at the client's premises
