Lonza has a student internship opportunity to join their MSAT team at their Bend, Oregon location.

This is a paid summer internship. Duration is for summer 2026 with some flexibility with start dates and end dates to accommodate life and school schedules.

What you will get:
  • Gain MSAT experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Learn and understand how to safely operate a range of instruments and equipment and demonstrates proficiency for achieving quality results.

  • Experience working directly with a MSAT professionals to drive operational excellence of commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing process.

What you will do:

  • Understand and apply chemical and engineering fundamentals including, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, conservation of mass and energy, and basic mathematical modeling.

  • Identify projects to improve yield, lower costs, and improve efficiency.

  • Support development and transfer of pharmaceutical processes into a commercial manufacturing environment.

  • Assess impact of changes to the product, process, equipment, procedures, or materials.

  • Perform intermediate data analysis, such as out of control, trends, shifts and linear regression.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree in chemistry, life or physical sciences, or an engineering field with at least 40 university credits.

  • Promote safety and demand high quality standards for work being performed.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be willing to relocate to Bend, Oregon for the summer and have own reliable transportation.
