Overview

Emerson Collective (EC) is a company of investors, changemakers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers working to make a lasting mark on the world.

Emerson Collective’s summer internship program places rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors - and, for select opportunities, undergraduate students graduating in 2026 - in paid internship opportunities across Emerson Collective and our longstanding nonprofit partners XQ Institute, E Pluribus Unum, and Chicago CRED

We’re looking for college students who think big, embrace challenges, and thrive in collaboration.

The internship is onsite, 40 hours per week, from June 15 through August 7, 2026. A mandatory paid virtual onboarding and orientation will take place June 10–12. See below for more details.

Application Deadline: Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

The Opportunity

The Brand Creative Studio team drives the brand for Emerson Collective and our priority areas, working to change hearts and minds with world-class storytelling and creativity—big ideas such as advertising, marketing, and brand films, all the way to day-to-day content for brand channels. Design is also an output, from logos to event design and more. The Brand Creative Studio's work covers brand management, creative strategy, ideation, digital, production, and content creation roles, so there is a diverse range of responsibilities.

As the Production intern, you’ll work primarily with the production team on video, photography, print, swag, and other creative projects that support Emerson Collective’s brand assets and key priority-area projects. You’ll contribute to the full production process—from pre-production and on-site support to post-production organization—and help maintain systems that keep projects running smoothly.

Throughout the summer, you’ll assist with daily production needs such as asset organization, film and photo clip cataloging, travel calendar coordination, and other logistical support that keeps productions on track. You’ll also help with the video editing process (no prior editing experience required), swag production, and more—gaining exposure to every stage of production, from prep through wrap.

Ideal candidates bring curiosity, strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated interest in creative or film production, whether through coursework, campus projects, or personal exploration. No prior video editing experience is required—just an eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the production team in organizing and managing film, photo, and media assets, including maintaining a comprehensive digital library.
  • Help coordinate and maintain production calendars, travel logistics, and on-site schedules for shoots and creative projects.
  • Assist in the editing process by organizing footage/content and coordinating edit reviews (no prior video editing experience required).
  • Provide general support throughout the production cycle, including pre-production prep, on-site assistance, and post-production organization.
  • Collaborate with creative teams and brand-building partners throughout ideation and creative review processes.
  • Contribute to daily production needs, such as swag creation, content prep, and maintaining shared resources.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior, preferably pursuing a field in film production, media arts, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Some prior experience or coursework in film production, photography, or content creation/social media is preferred (editing skills are a plus but not required).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, open to feedback and iteration.
  • A passion for storytelling and creative production, with enthusiasm for contributing to a variety of projects.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude in supporting all phases of the production process.
  • Cares about Emerson Collective’s values, work, and impact.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and share ideas in a dynamic, creative team setting.
  • Interest in brand building, production, marketing, or creative storytelling.
