Summer Intern Program duration: June 2 – August 8, 2025.
An Internal Audit Summer Intern is responsible for assisting in the audit planning, fieldwork and reporting of assurance and advisory engagements under the direction of the Managing/Lead Director, with guidance and supervision from Directors/Managers/Senior Analysts. Areas of focus include Finance (Accounting, Treasury, and Financial Planning and Analysis) with potential periodic rotations to other internal audit teams.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate an interest in learning and the ability to apply learnings from one experience to another.
Demonstrate Webster’s values and desired risk management behaviors.
Follow general direction in prioritizing work and meeting pre-established goals.
Develop technical auditing and banking industry expertise.
Develop cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Assist in identifying risks and controls in business processes and developing appropriate test plans.
Assist in testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
Prepare detailed audit documentation in line with department standards.
Participate in discussions relating to risk and issue identification and resolution.
Assist in the risk assessment process, as applicable.
Participate in Internal Audit special projects and initiatives, as applicable.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:
Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in the banking/financial services industry
Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive
Highly organized
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Experience creating and delivering presentations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to learn quickly and solve problems
Strong analytical skills

Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
The estimated salary range for this position is $20.00/hr. to $22.00/hr. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
