Disruptive Technologies (DT) develops the world’s smallest, zero-hassle wireless IoT sensors and cloud infrastructure. Our platform helps companies collect, analyze, and act on sensor data, from improving hospital workflows to help reduce food loss.
This summer, we’re looking for a team of student Fullstack engineers to help our customers use and analyze sensor data at scale. Time series data is complex, and our mission is to make it simple and actionable for our customers. You’ll design and build tools that transform a large number of raw sensor streams into insights that anyone can understand.
As part of our Cloud Team, you’ll work on customer-facing applications and internal tools that require combining big data, dynamical systems, and excellent UI/UX to bring actionable insights to the customer. This is your chance to tackle challenging problems while building elegant, usable software!
You will work on:
- Applications and dashboards that make time series sensor data actionable
- Time-series classification and anomaly detection
- Scalable analytics tools for big data processing
- Clean, intuitive user interfaces that hides the complexity but deliver insight to the user
- Fullstack development with modern frontend frameworks and backend services
Our technologies:
- For backend services, our primary programming language is Go, but we occasionally also use Python.
- We use gRPC for all of our internal APIs, and define our asynchronous events in Protocol Buffers.
- We track all of our infrastructure in code using Terraform.
- Our cloud-provider is Google Cloud, where most of our workload runs on Google Kubernetes Engine. We prefer to use Cloud SQL with PostgreSQL for storing application state, and Cloud Pub/Sub as the message queue. BigQuery is used to allow easy access to large volumes of data at scale.
- On the frontend side, we use React and Vue.js for internal-facing applications. Our customer-facing Studio application is currently written in AngularJS, and we’re planning to rewrite it in React.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Feels comfortable working in a modern development environment.
- Interested in dynamical systems and signal processing
- Have experience building, running, and debugging web applications using modern JS frameworks (Svelte, Vue, React, etc.).
- Can put yourself in the shoes of your users and be a steward of crafting great experiences.
- Is self-driven, curious, caring, and can work in a team with other people.
- Eye for design, product details, and polish is a strong plus.
- Excited by new products and startups!
You should include these in your application:
- Your resume and/or LinkedIn profile.
- A one-paragraph summary of your favorite project from any of your work, school or personal experiences.
Location is at Lysaker and/or Trondheim.
If you feel like you don’t meet all of the requirements for this role, we encourage you to apply anyway. We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome may get in the way of meeting incredible candidates, and we don’t want it to get in the way of meeting you.
