SUMMARY- Candidate must be cognizant of and then adhere to NYS OCFS regulations, CDC and DOH guidelines. Candidate must be able to work during the Summer Camp Program hours including Orientation, Staff Meetings, and trainings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Help individual children acquire new or improved program skills.
• Assist with implementation of all program activities.
• Help maintain daily attendance and wellness records.
• Plan activities for program area in advance and develop rainy day plans.
• Supervise children during special events, and all planned activities.
• Attend all meetings and trainings deemed necessary by Supervisors.
• Supervise children as needed for Emergencies at program and Late pickups after hours.
• Complete Health and Safety 5 hour training, Mandated Reporter 2 hour training, and Adverse Childhood Experience’s 45 minute training, Elijah’s Law 1 hour training prior to first work day.
• Wash hands upon entry to program, and before/ after meals and outside activities.
• Ensure all program areas are clean at the end of the day.
• Sanitize all program supplies throughout the day.
• Assist with temperature checks of staff and children.
• Wear a mask throughout the entire day, as well as protective gloves for meal times, re-fill of water bottles, cleaning, and first aid needs.
• Ensure children are signed out by approved pick up person at end of day.
• Know where your children are at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service to children and parents.
• Bring any concerns about children and staff to Supervisors.
• Develop Leadership skills over the course of the season.
Office/Technical Responsibilities
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• MAT training optional.
• For Ropes and Assistant Ropes, additional ACCT certified training courses are required prior to work.
Education and Experience :
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
Working Environment:
• Able to work outdoors, in and around the program site.
• Assist supervisor with inspection of program area and equipment for safety concerns.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to be outdoors during the majority of program hours.
• Will include moving/lifting equipment, cabinets, etc.
• For Ropes Specialist and Assistant Ropes Specialist, please note that you will need to belay children/teens during a majority of the day. Avg. weight of our campers is 50-100 lbs. plus. Weather conditions vary as well with heat/humidity under the open Course.
Other:
• Assist with fundraising events as needed
• Spearhead or assist on special projects as may be assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills Required
- Must be at least 20 years old
- Current CPR and First Aid certification

- ACCT certified training courses required prior to work for Ropes and Assistant Ropes
- Able to belay children/teens for majority of the day and lift/move equipment (outdoor, variable weather)
- Adhere to NYS OCFS regulations, CDC and DOH guidelines; wear mask and gloves; assist with temperature checks
- Able to work Summer Camp Program hours including Orientation, staff meetings, and trainings
- Previous experience working with children
