For 20 years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered pre-K- 12th graders with the skills and confidence to paddle, bike, hike, climb and thrive in the outdoors. Each year we employ hundreds of Seasonal Staff to serve thousands of campers and our Directors and Assistant Directors are an integral part of this success. Each Camp Leadership Team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and efficient programs. They also provide mentorship and training to our Seasonal Instructors and are responsible for creating a positive, inclusive, and memorable work environment. Important Details
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday during regular camp operations, approximately 8am - 4:30pm. Hours are dependent on operation needs.
Position Duration: In person Camp Leadership training May 1 - 3 preferred, but not required. Additional pre-season training takes place May 30 - June 4 for Menlo Park, June 14 - 19 for Bellevue. Camps run June through August, exact dates dependent on location.
Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure.
Menlo College, CA starts at $1,352/week
Bellevue, WA starts at $1,373/week
Relevant Certification Bonuses:
Wilderness First Responder/EMT: $350
Teacher's License/MA: $200
Additional bonuses available for $100 - $400 per certification paid end-of-season
In this role you will
Bring the Avid vision to life; ensure our camps are operating at a high quality and that parents, campers and staff have positive experiences at Avid4 Adventure.
Lead and empower Camp Instructors by providing mentorship, hosting engaging staff meetings and continuing education segments, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace.
Complete behind-the-scenes administrative work to include creating camp and staff schedules, uploading pictures, ensuring compliance standards are being upheld, conducting payroll audits, and ensuring logistical accuracy.
Provide excellent customer service to our campers and parents by addressing problems immediately, communicating clearly and frequently, responding to parent survey feedback, and guiding staff on Avid4 best practices.
Manage the risk in your program to minimize the number of incidents. You will participate in incident response and oversee the timely completion of incident reports and first aid forms.
Fulfill the role of instructor on an as needed basis.

Your Background
Directors must meet American Camp Association minimum age requirements, i.e., must be 25 years or older by the start of camp season
All Camp Leadership must qualify to drive camp vehicles, i.e., be 20 years or older by the start of camp with a valid driver’s license
Must have demonstrated expertise in at least one of our core sports (paddling, hiking, climbing, mountain biking)
All Camp Directors and Expeditions Leadership must possess a Wilderness First Responder (or EMT) and CPR certification by the start of camp
All other Camp Leadership positions must possess a Wilderness First Aid (or WFR/EMT) and CPR certification by the start of camp
Skills Required
- Must be 25 years or older by the start of camp season

Avid4 Adventure has been activating kids’ outdoor genes for over 12 years. We are accredited by the American Camp Association and run day camps throughout Colorado and the California Bay Area.
