Porter Scott is now accepting applications for our Summer Law Clerk Program for second-year law students (2Ls) who are interested in developing practical litigation skills while working alongside some of Northern California's most respected trial attorneys.
This is more than a traditional summer clerkship. Our law clerks are fully integrated into the firm and entrusted with meaningful work that contributes directly to active cases. From day one, you'll gain exposure to the realities of litigation and develop the skills necessary to succeed as a future attorney.
What You'll LearnAs a Summer Law Clerk, you will have the opportunity to:

Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents

Observe and participate in case strategy discussions

Attend depositions, court hearings, mediations, and trials when available

Work directly with attorneys across multiple practice areas

Receive individualized mentoring and constructive feedback from experienced litigators

Participate in weekly training sessions and professional development workshops designed to strengthen both legal and practical skills
