About The Company

goop is a lifestyle platform dedicated to exploration, curation, and groundbreaking conversation. From its award-winning beauty and fashion lines to its expansive editorial lens, goop invites women to embrace the process of becoming, and to discover deep joy in the pursuit of pleasure, beauty, and growth in all phases of life.

Gwyneth Paltrow began goop in the fall of 2008 as a weekly newsletter. It has expanded into a beauty, fashion, and food business that’s also known for its products, curation, podcast, TV shows, live events, and retail stores.

About You

You’re curious about what makes customers click, open, and come back for more. You love digging into data to uncover insights and have a genuine interest in e-commerce, email marketing, and the customer lifecycle. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are highly organized, and get excited about the intersection of creative storytelling and performance-driven strategy. Whether you’re troubleshooting a product page in Shopify, refining meta descriptions for SEO, or analyzing retention trends, you approach each task with precision, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership.

About The Role

As an E-Commerce & Retention Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to learn email marketing, site merchandising, and lifecycle marketing tactics, working closely with both the e-commerce and retention teams — as well as cross-functional partners — on impactful day-to-day responsibilities. This role supports two distinct but connected teams: the E-Commerce team, focused on site performance and catalog operations, and the Retention team, focused on customer engagement and repeat purchase behavior — both working in support of goop's broader revenue and growth goals. You will report to the Manager of Retention Marketing. This role is perfect for motivated individuals seeking to deepen their expertise in e-commerce operations and CRM, develop new competencies, and lay the groundwork for a successful career in digital marketing.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct keyword research and implement on-page GEO/SEO optimizations across goop.com — including meta titles, meta descriptions, and alt text.
  • Support product setup, site merchandising, and Shopify backend maintenance — including product uploads, collection page cleanup, and bulk updates — with opportunities to identify and build new operational workflows.
  • Build, test, and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo, ensuring quality assurance across design, copy, links, and segmentation — supporting both one-time sends and automated lifecycle flows.
  • Pull and analyze lifecycle and retention metrics—including open rates, click-through rates, revenue attribution, and cohort performance—to share actionable insights with the team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (entering junior or senior year) in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or within one year post-graduation.
  • Familiarity with or strong interest in e-commerce platforms (Shopify preferred), email marketing tools (Klaviyo preferred), and SEO fundamentals.
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., pivot tables, basic charting) and exposure to reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Shopify, or Klaviyo.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail in copy and design review.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a genuine eagerness to learn in a DTC setting.

FAQ

  • Compensation: $18.47 an hour. This temporary Assistant role will be full-time (40 hours/week) and run from June 1st – July 31st, 2026.
  • Perks: Special offers with brand partners, access to custom lifestyle resources and events, and a beautiful workspace in Santa Monica.
  • Work Philosophy: At goop we believe that creativity, innovation and camaraderie are essential to our business, our culture and our employee’s growth and development. What We Do

goop is a lifestyle brand with its roots in content across key pillars: wellness, beauty, food, style, and travel. Within those pillars, goop curates and sells a tightly edited array of products and makes its own goods in beauty, fashion, and wellness. goop launched in the fall of 2008 out of Gwyneth Paltrow’s kitchen as a homespun weekly newsletter. Paltrow wanted to share her unbiased travel recommendations, health-centric recipes, and shopping discoveries, and she also wanted to get her own questions—about health, fitness, and the psyche—answered. goop continues to be a place for Paltrow, now the company’s CEO, to introduce readers to incredible experts who have mentored her throughout her life, along with new ideas about where to shop, eat, and stay, plus clean recipes.
