HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS LIVE OAK AND ITS PEOPLE
Live Oak Bank exists to serve small business owners, the people who often get overlooked by traditional banks but who power our communities every day. Our Deposit Operations and Treasury Management team keeps the engine running behind the scenes, making sure deposit accounts function smoothly, transactions process accurately, and treasury solutions actually work the way our clients need them to.
As an intern on this team, you'll help keep that engine humming. Your work will support the operational backbone that allows small businesses to trust us with their money, and you'll walk away with a real understanding of how a modern bank operates day to day.
WHAT YOU'LL DO AT LIVE OAK
Support daily deposit operations, including account maintenance, transaction processing, and issue resolution
Assist the Treasury Management team with onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support of treasury products and services
Help identify process improvements and contribute ideas to make operations more efficient and client-friendly
Prepare reports, reconcile data, and assist with quality control checks across deposit and treasury functions
Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Partner with teammates across Operations, Product, and Client Services to support a seamless client experience
Join team meetings, trainings, and projects designed to build your foundational knowledge of banking operations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
A collaborative mindset paired with the ability to work independently when needed
A genuine curiosity about how banks operate and a willingness to learn quickly
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous internship or coursework in banking, operations, or treasury services
Familiarity with deposit account structures or treasury management products
Basic understanding of regulatory or compliance concepts in financial services
Experience with reconciliation, data entry, or reporting tools
Interest in building a long-term career in banking operations or treasury management

The base pay range for this position is $19.77 - $32.12 per hour. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
