Internship Description:

One Degree Advisors is offering a Research Analyst internship in San Diego, CA.

 

The intern will be primarily responsible for researching and compiling information on investment, retirement, and tax planning strategies. The purpose of this due diligence is foundational for the advisors. It must be presented concisely. Templates will be provided although a certain amount of creativity and initiative is welcomed. The intern can expect a thorough introduction to the financial and investment planning industry with meaningful work and honest guidance and feedback in his or her career pursuits. The intern can expect regular meetings with one of the firm’s advisors to discuss questions, concerns, and upcoming and completed work.

 

Date: Summer 2026. Schedule and start date are negotiable.

Hours: 15 hours per week. 

 

Duration: 6 weeks

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Research investment vehicles, including Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds, by exploring articles, prospectuses, company websites, conference calls, webinars and other resources
  • Prepare data for evaluation and portfolio development
  • Research financial planning topics related to client objectives
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements:

    • Strong research and internet skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • A strong desire to learn about investments and financial planning and gain the foundational knowledge to properly organize research
    • Basic accounting and mathematical skills
    • Good communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
    • Good software skills (including Microsoft Word & Excel)
    • Creativity and ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
    • Attention to detail
    • Must be punctual
    • Professional appearance
    • Excellent team player 
    • Adherence to confidentiality

    Education/Experience:

    Current college enrollment or degree preferred; no industry experience required
