Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in a Degree / Diploma program in Engineering (Mechanical or Material)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the following computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good organizational skills


DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
(Optional) - Preferred but not required

  • Automotive manufacturing experience in test lab or similar is an asset
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation for data acquisition and machine control (lab view, Daytronics, load cell, and oscilloscope)
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of PLC based control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to accurately test products for consistency with specifications.
  • Quality Assurance training


MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain 5S standards in working environment
  • Support daily maintenance of test equipment and fixtures
  • Assist test technician in the set up of tests and data collection
  • Assist with testing result analysis and reporting results
  • Collect samples for glass content testing
  • Open Doc Rev and correction
  • Assist with packing instruction updates
  • Assist with CMM document scans
  • Support with proto-type builds
  • Clerical work involving preparing launch readiness, audit reports and bill of materials review
  • Sample tagging and inventory management
  • Read and become knowledgeable with specifications and standards
  • Troubleshooting of test lab equipment -- current and preventative
  • Assist in development, implementation and ensure adherence to all customer specific test standards
  • May communicate test results to engineering program management when directed
  • Assist with daily operation and scheduling of the test lab
  • Assist with on-going weld testing as described below
  • Setup and Perform Testing in accordance with specifications and documentation of results as directed
  • Communicate test results to the respective Project Manager when directed
  • Manage and co-ordinate the activities for test technician involved in testing to ensure that all product testing conforms to standards and that resources are available
  • Support ISO/QS9000 and IATF/TS16949 efforts as it pertains to the Lab
