Job Description: Under the direction of a Manager or Senior Manager, the Clinical Data Lead is an integral part of the account team as the subject matter expert, ensuring partner satisfaction through management of all quality tasks including new team member orientation, pre-submission cleaning of cases, validation of abstractor accuracy (IRR), completion of Fallout Reviews and the Second Look process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identify and address first-tier quality and efficiency performance concerns, ensuring quality standards are met consistently and escalating to MCS/SM and CSL as needed.
- Design and implement initial coaching strategies to address and resolve team quality and efficiency performance issues, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
- Cultivate the skills and capabilities of abstractor team members, ensuring continuous growth and professional development.
- Review key operating metrics to provide data driven recommendations to support business financial goals.
- Lead new partner implementation orientation.
- Work closely with the Clinical Services Lead on case-specific questions, as needed.
- Other partner tasks, as needed.
- Oversee initial greenlighting process, including the orienting and onboarding of newly added team members.
- Manage the ongoing internal case review process, ensuring timely completion of monthly CERs, IRRs, and Treatment Grids as assigned.
- Conduct monthly review of CER/IRR/Treatment Grid results for quality trends and ensure accuracy standards are met. Design and implement re-education strategies for the abstraction team to address quality risks, utilizing Q-C resources or creating custom educational materials, as needed.
- Effectively manage all quality and data integrity tasks for each assigned project to ensure accurate reporting, including timely completion of pre-submission cleanup process, targeted reviews, fallout/exception/occurrence reviews and reporting, and data harvest cycles as applicable, partnering with the Clinical Services Lead to ensure partner notification and review.
- Provide partner quality performance opportunities to Clinical Service Lead, and support creating documentation of recommendations.
- Maintain and share abstraction team support documents, including the Measure Detail Document (MDD) and Clarification Forms, continuously updating including enhancing design of MDD to be clear and easy to use.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in assigned registry or measure.
- No more than 15% - 20% abstraction.
- Other tasks, as assigned.

- Maintains a high degree of responsibility in keeping PHI secure and confidential.
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years direct data abstraction experience in the STS Registry (required).
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Microsoft Excel).
- Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
- 1+ years providing coaching and guidance to teams (preferred).
- RN, LPN, RT, RVT, or RCIS credentials (preferred).

The target wage range for this role is $32.00 - $35.00 per hour. Individual wage rates within this range are based on multiple factors including but not limited to skills, experiences, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational considerations. Wage ranges are reviewed, at minimum, annually and all team members are eligible for performance-based wage rate increases annually.
