Torch Technologies is seeking a Structures Engineer to join our team and support a critical government program office by providing technical oversight of OEM structural testing activities and ensuring the integrity, compliance, and airworthiness of advanced aerospace systems.
As a Structures Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Provide technical oversight and evaluation of OEM structural test plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure compliance with government requirements
Analyze structural test data and independently assess results, preparing briefings, reports, and risk assessments for program leadership
Collaborate with government engineers, OEMs, and cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to resolve technical challenges and ensure program alignment
Develop and review technical documentation including test evaluations, system procedures, and engineering assessments
Support structural testing activities by witnessing static, dynamic, and fatigue tests and ensuring adherence to approved methodologies
Engage with stakeholders and leadership through technical working groups, providing subject matter expertise and guidance on structural systems
Identify technical risks related to airframe structures and develop mitigation strategies to support program execution and airworthiness certification
Support program execution through planning, coordination, and Earned Value Management (EVM) responsibilities as a control account manager
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace structural engineering or related field
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance
Experience supporting structural analysis, test evaluation, and airworthiness or certification activities
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in DoD, federal, or aerospace engineering environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs, particularly Army or aviation programs
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and structural analysis methods
Experience working with cross-functional teams, OEMs, and government stakeholders
Strong technical documentation, briefing, and reporting experience
Familiarity with systems engineering, airworthiness certification, and structural test methodologies
Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field; experience with MBSE tools (e.g., 3DX) preferred
