Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for a Structural and Payload Design Engineer to join our team in Teknopark , Pendik/İstanbul, Türkiye.
As a Structural & Payload Design Engineer, you will work on the creation and maintenance of CATIA-based seat and suite assemblies, perform interference/clash checks with surrounding structures and systems, and develop model-based drawings (Seat MDB) that define installation requirements for manufacturing. You'll work closely with design engineering, project engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to implement design adjustments driven by customer requirements, while following Boeing drafting practices and PLM workflows.
An engineer in this role may specialize in Electrical Systems and Wiring or Cabin Interior Design. The selected candidate should be a proactive and accountable engineer who is comfortable working with global engineering teams and taking ownership of assigned work scope.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain CATIA V5 assemblies for seats and premium suites; manage positioning, constraints, and BOM structure.
  • Perform and coordinate resolution of clash/interference analyses between seats/suites and adjacent aircraft systems or structures; document issues, evaluate solution options, and drive required design updates.
  • Create and maintain Seat MDB (Model-Based Drawings) that define installation requirements, including seat/suite locations, hardware and fasteners, access/clearance needs, and installation sequence notes for manufacturing execution.
  • Drive assigned interior integration activities from concept layout through preliminary and final design to support customer, program, and certification requirements.
  • Implement design adjustments driven by customer change requests and certification inputs; update 3D models and associated datasets.
  • Partner with Design Engineers to review supplier drawings for interface definition, standards compliance, and producibility; track comments to closure and coordinate follow-up actions as needed.
  • Execute daily configuration and data management in ENOVIA/PLM; maintain traceability of source data and change history.
  • Collaborate with project engineering, program teams, and technical staff to define/implement practical engineering solutions; escalate risks early.
  • Apply Boeing drafting practices and basic tolerance/GD&T principles to ensure clear product definition throughout the lifecycle.
  • Use analytical skills to determine solutions and resolve problems.
  • Execute tasks on time to maintain program schedule.
  • Produce outputs that meet or exceed defined quality benchmarks.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of work-related experience in Aerospace/Aviation Industry.
  • 3+ years of CATIA V5 or 3D modeling software skills (part design, surfacing, sheet metal, electrical etc.).
  • Experience working with ENOVIA/PLM change control and maintain engineering data in a structured configuration environment.
  • Effective communication in English; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • General understanding and familiarization of engineering practices and related technical publications.
  • Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience reviewing supplier (including electrical) drawings and resolving integration issues.
  • Experience supporting seat certification activities is a plus.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adopt new applications and tools rapidly.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects for maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to define, document, and maintain processes and work instructions as required.
  • Strong prioritization, initiative, and continuous-improvement mindset (e.g., process documentation, templates, checklists).
  • Ability to travel for training or assignments as required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, program management and supplier teams.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards.
  • Confirmed reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical proficiency.
  • Continuous-improvement mindset (templates, libraries, macros) and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Additional Information:
This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Istanbul, Türkiye. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Türkiye law. Employment is subject to the candidate's ability to satisfy all Türkiye labor and immigration formalities.
