Street Cleansing Operative
Salary: £24,252.80 plus Veolia benefits and pension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Location: 9-13 St James Mill Road, Northampton, NN5 5JW

What you'll be doing;
-
Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc)
-
Ensure that all Gully Grids are clear of any obstruction and that sweepings arising are not swept over or pushed down gully grids; such action may lead to disciplinary action

Empty litter bins found within your beat, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, collect sweeper bags from agreed pick-up points

Utilise onboard technology in real time to record task confirmation and crew-related issues

Report locations of any graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins and waste containers to your Team Leader/Manager

Check your vehicle for condition and roadworthiness and complete the appropriate forms

Drive and operate any vehicle supplied by Veolia, having first received the relevant training

Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with members of the public, clients, staff and colleagues
What we're looking for;

Basic understanding of Health & Safety

Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial

Ability to work well as part of a team

Driving licence would be an advantage
This role involves manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

What We Do
Veolia UK provides solutions for ecological transformation. We are a company of almost 14,000 employees, although we prefer to think of ourselves as “resourcers”.
