POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting Procurement activities for a defined commodity group (Mechanical components) from the point of customer award through end of production. Scope of responsibility may be regional and/or global (in accordance with Category Team alignment).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support strategic sourcing activities:
- ERP System (JD Edwards, Proceedo) database maintenance and integrity.
- Manage prices: 1) Define initial pricing and ensure accurately reflected in ERP systems (JD Edwards); 2) Resolve or escalate changes in price due to supplier by utilizing the Price Change process; 3) Assist in annual Standard Cost setting.
- Manage delivery terms and MOQ.
- Manage Approved Supplier Database is up to date. Participate in supplier qualification process.
- Manage prototype purchases (e.g. order issuance, delivery timing).
- Support Sourcing and/or Category Manager to source material to the required specification at a competitive price and in accordance with program targets.
- Participate in APQP activities to drive suppliers towards on time product launch.
- Ensure no disruption of material supply that will result in a production stoppage. Expedite orders to ensure on-time deliveries as needed.
- Support Sourcing and/or Category Manager to negotiate supplier compensation for non-performance (when supplier is at fault).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, project management or related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in Procurement, Logistics and/or project management related field.
- Ability to create and deliver clear presentations
- Experience working in global project team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact positively with all levels in the organization
- Good English language skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team

- 15% Travel
