SIOP Leader

Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning

Position Summary

The SIOP Leader leads the company’s integrated planning process, aligning customer demand, inventory investment, supply and distribution capacity with financial objectives and business strategy. Working across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance, this role translates enterprise and business-unit priorities into executable demand, supply, inventory and capacity plans; drives inventory optimization; advances planning capabilities; and supports executive decisions that balance customer service, growth, risk, cash flow and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead integrated planning. Own the end-to-end SIOP process, including demand, supply and inventory reviews, integrated reconciliation and executive SIOP. Establish standard planning cadences, inputs, decision rights and accountability across business units and regions.

Connect SIOP to business strategy. Translate enterprise and business-unit strategy, annual operating plans, growth priorities, portfolio choices and financial commitments into executable demand, supply, inventory and capacity plans. Identify gaps between strategic objectives and operational capability, develop scenarios and recommend the priorities, trade-offs and resource allocation required to deliver the business strategy.

Advance planning maturity. Develop and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap with annual objectives. Improve planning governance, processes, systems, analytics and organizational capabilities, using maturity assessments and industry benchmarks to guide priorities.

Optimize inventory. Set enterprise inventory strategies, segmentation, service targets and replenishment policies. Govern safety stock, reorder points, lead times, minimum order quantities and planning master data. Improve inventory deployment and turns while reducing excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock.

Integrate demand and product planning. Partner with Sales, Marketing and Product Management to develop consensus forecasts informed by market trends, customer demand and growth initiatives. Incorporate new product introductions, transitions and end-of-life plans into inventory and supply decisions.

Align supply and capacity. Work with Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain to reconcile demand with manufacturing, labor and supplier capacity across planning horizons. Identify bottlenecks, manage escalations and coordinate responses to supply and inventory risks.

Guide executive decisions. Facilitate executive reviews and recommend actions on strategic priorities, inventory investment, capacity, customer priorities and supply-demand imbalances. Use scenario modeling to assess service, growth, risk and financial trade-offs, clarify the implications of alternative choices for the business strategy, and track decisions and follow-up actions through completion.

Improve value chain performance. Lead cross-functional initiatives from suppliers through customer fulfillment to improve total landed cost, throughput, service, inventory productivity and working capital. Use value stream mapping to identify and prioritize improvements.

Measure results and build capability. Establish planning KPIs and executive dashboards covering forecast accuracy and bias, inventory health, service, working capital and progress against strategic and financial objectives. Use root cause analysis and predictive analytics to guide corrective action. Develop planning talent and strengthen collaboration, accountability and decision-making across functions.
