As a Strategic Events Manager on the GCB Strategic Events team, you will lead the creation and execution of strategic event marketing programs that align with J.P. Morgan's business goals, focused on corporate treasurers and their teams in EMEA's largest corporates and non-bank financial institutions, plus key public sector organisations. Your focus will be on enhancing brand awareness and fostering client engagement through innovative proprietary events and some industry sponsorships. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful client experiences, manage budgets, and analyse event success to drive continuous improvement. Your strategic vision and creative execution of the highest standard will be key in fostering meaningful client engagement and maintaining J.P. Morgan's position as a leading corporate bank in EMEA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong understanding of business fundamentals, strategic objectives, target audiences, and department goals, translating these into clear priorities to deliver best-in-class client events across EMEA
  • Own end-to-end event delivery from concept to completion, coordinating across multiple business lines to maximise shared opportunities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines (including additional hours on key events when required)
  • Lead event planning workstreams such as venue research and recommendations, agenda curating, external speaker identification, and overall event logistics management
  • Manage invitations and communications end-to-end, including list/data integrity, invitation creation, proofreading, testing, distribution, RSVP tracking, and attendee reporting
  • Coordinate all pre-event operational requirements, including audio-visual and technical needs, printed/digital materials, shipping, staffing plans, and run-of-show readiness
  • Provide on-site event execution and support, acting as sole planner for select events and partnering closely with team members on larger or more complex programmes
  • Manage external vendors and suppliers to agreed service, quality, and value standards, including sourcing, negotiation, and performance management
  • Track and manage event budgets end-to-end, securing approvals, documenting variances, and conducting post-event effectiveness and ROI analysis
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, controls, and relevant regulations, partnering with Legal and Compliance on contracts, approvals, and anti-corruption requirements
  • Deliver ongoing and ad-hoc execution support to senior management and key stakeholders, including timely guidance and issue resolution
  • Contribute to team development by coaching and supporting Strategic Event Associates as required

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Experience in event marketing, ideally within a global financial services or professional services environment (in-house or agency), with strong marketing fundamentals
  • Programme delivery: Proven ability to plan and deliver end-to-end event programmes across multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Project & time management: Strong organisation, prioritisation, and attention to detail; able to drive workstreams to completion
  • Analytical, solutions-led thinking: Comfortable interpreting complex information to inform decisions, mitigate risk, and improve outcomes
  • Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communicator with strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Senior stakeholder management: Confident engaging senior leaders; able to respond quickly and distil messages into clear actions
  • Leadership & ownership: Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, accountability, and a proactive, “take-ownership” mindset
  • Adaptability under pressure: Effective in fast-paced environments with competing priorities; able to work with minimal supervision

  • Sponsorships & sales programmes: Track record of developing distinctive event and/or sponsorship programmes that support commercial objectives
  • Client-facing corporate events: Experience delivering events and sponsorships in a corporate setting, collaborating with colleagues engaging directly with clients
  • Budget ownership: Experience supporting the development, tracking, and reconciliation of event budgets, including post-event financial hygiene
  • Event data & insights: Comfortable partnering on event reporting and analysis to strengthen decision-making and demonstrate RoI impact
  • Change mindset: Comfortable with, and an advocate for, continuous improvement and evolving processes/tools
  • Travel: Willing and able to travel ~10–25% within EMEA
  • Event technology “super user”: Ability to become a power user of event tools and systems (e.g., Zkipster, SharePoint, Nominator, Stova)
