The Role

Vanguard has an exciting new Strategic Communications Senior Specialist opportunity open in our Malvern, PA location. Strategic Communications' purpose is to share Vanguard’s differentiated perspective to enhance our brand, influence key audiences, and equip the enterprise to share Vanguard’s views.  This role will lead the development, planning and execution of a communications strategy aligned to the Advice and Wealth Management division.

Responsibilities

  • Develops communications strategy to enable strategic business outcomes. Leads the communication development, delivery, and measurement across a variety of business needs.
  • Protects Vanguard's reputation through all communications across various channels and platforms. Partners with teams in corporate communications, marketing, internal communications, and business leaders to proactively source and deliver business-critical communications.
  • Partners closely with key influencers and senior leaders to counsel, advise and develop communications strategies that meet current and future needs of Vanguard.
  • Drives the development of communication agendas with high-quality communications material across a variety of formats, platforms and channels.
  •  Ensures the execution of all phases of the communications process, including conception, implementation, and measurement.
  • Balances external practice with internal brand. Serve as a Vanguard's authority on industry best practices, emerging trends, and their validity in Vanguard's environment and culture to encourage adoption as appropriate.
  • Spearheads continuous improvements in Vanguard's communication strategy and implementation. Measures and monitors internal client feedback and makes recommendations based on feedback gathered from various sources.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum eight years related work experience. Communications or marketing strategy experience required.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other information

  • This role will sit within the Strategic Communications sub-team supporting client facing divisions. 
  • This role will primarily support the Advice and Wealth Management division but may be assigned projects supporting Vanguard's U.S. client facing businesses as needed.
  • Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience navigating complex work across all levels of the organization.
