We are seeking a Strategic Communications Advisor to support our Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President, Finance and our Chief People & Culture Officer & Executive Vice President, People & Culture. The role also acts as leading editor of our Annual Report.

In this role, you’ll join Hempel’s Global Communications team, where we enable our Double Impact strategy through impactful and engaging communications. Our goal is to position Hempel as a leader in sustainable coating solutions, both internally and externally.

You will lead a cross-functional project for Hempel’s Annual Report, managing the financial and ESG reporting process as editor-in-chief. Experience in project management for annual reporting and/or ESG reporting is a clear advantage for this position. You will also craft compelling stories across various formats and channels and contribute to our dynamic, collaborative team of 10.

What you can look forward to in this role:

Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, you will become part of a diverse Communications team driven by a passion for delivering on customer needs and telling engaging stories about Hempel and our exciting journey.

As the lead for our Annual Report project, you will coordinate across teams to create a best-in-class publication that reflects Hempel’s performance and strategic priorities. You will align with Finance, Sustainability and Communications colleagues to ensure that the report meets stakeholder expectations, regulatory requirements, and our high standards for storytelling and transparency.

You will also serve as a trusted communications advisor to the CFO and CPCO, helping translate strategic priorities into clear and engaging content for internal and external audiences. Your work will support Hempel’s overarching strategy and strengthen communication across both finance and people-related topics.

You will make an impact by:

As project lead for the Annual Report:

  • Managing the end-to-end development of Hempel’s Annual Report, including financial and ESG content.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth collaboration and delivery of the report on time and to a high standard.
  • Developing and executing a communication plan for the report launch to key stakeholders.
  • Staying updated on trends in ESG and financial reporting to continuously enhance Hempel’s storytelling capabilities.

As a Communications Advisor to the CFO & CPCO:

  • Supporting the CFO and CPCO in strategy formulation and leadership communication.
  • Acting as an opportunity-seeking partner to their leadership teams to communicate strategic priorities, culture, and performance.
  • Driving organisational change communication in close collaboration with Strategic People Partners.
  • Ensuring alignment in communication plans related to strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions or organisational changes.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Have a relevant degree within Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Have solid experience in driving and developing corporate communication of various formats in a global organisation and context.
  • Have experience managing Annual Report projects and/or ESG reporting.
  • Think strategically and have strong business acumen.
  • Are experienced in providing strategic communications advisory to C-suite leadership.
  • Are a digital native, passionate about the latest trends in digital communication, and comfortable using SharePoint, Viva Engage, and other relevant internal platforms.
  • Have great project management skills and a collaborative style.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with flawless English and the ability to translate technical information into engaging content.
  • Are able to listen and connect with people to ensure the best possible advice while being assertive enough to ensure impact.
