What’s this role about?

Shape the Future of Energy Markets

We are looking for a commercially driven Strategic Account Director to play a key role in expanding our presence across the UK and Ireland energy markets. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced energy professional to work at the forefront of the energy transition, helping large energy users unlock value through flexibility, smart grid technologies, and innovative energy optimisation solutions.

In this role, you will lead the development of high-value strategic partnerships, working closely with major industrial and commercial customers to deliver solutions that support both operational efficiency and decarbonisation goals. You will also play an important role in identifying new market opportunities as electricity markets evolve and flexibility becomes increasingly valuable to the grid.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and grow strategic customer relationships across the UK and Ireland.
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities within energy and flexibility markets.
  • Build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders including energy managers, sustainability leaders, and executive teams.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive long-term growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and key market forums.
  • Work closely with internal trading, optimisation, and product teams to deliver innovative energy solutions to customers.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in strategic account management, business development, or commercial leadership within the energy sector.
  • Solid understanding of UK and Irish electricity markets, including emerging flexibility or smart grid solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex commercial relationships and close high-value deals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to identify and develop market opportunities.

Skills & Experience

  • 3 years’ + experience in strategic account management, business development, or commercial leadership within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK and/or Irish electricity markets, including flexibility, ancillary services, or energy optimisation.
  • Proven track record of managing complex B2B relationships and closing large commercial deals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify market opportunities

Desirable:

Experience working with:

  • Large energy users (industrial and commercial)
  • Utilities or energy suppliers
  • Transmission or distribution system operators
  • Aggregators or energy technology providers
  • Knowledge of demand response, smart grids, or energy flexibility markets.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, policy bodies, or industry associations.
