Position Summary

ProcessBarron is seeking an experienced and technically driven Steam Turbine Product Manager to lead the strategic development, growth, and execution of the company's steam turbine services and product offerings. This position serves as the bridge between customers, engineering, operations, sales, and field service teams to ensure ProcessBarron continues to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of industrial and power generation markets.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation, industrial maintenance, or heavy industrial services.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in product management, business development, engineering, project management, or technical sales.
  • Experience working directly with industrial or power generation customers.
  • Strong understanding of steam turbine systems and maintenance practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with turbine manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Elliott, Toshiba, or Dresser-Rand.
  • MBA or advanced business education.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with outage planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of ASME standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

Technical Knowledge

The Steam Turbine Product Manager will be responsible for defining service offerings, developing market strategies, supporting business development initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, and driving product lifecycle management for steam turbine-related services and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial maintenance and have a passion for delivering customer-focused solutions that generate business growth.

This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on involvement with customers, field execution teams, and engineering personnel. Significant customer interaction and field presence are expected to ensure services align with market demand and customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Portfolio Management
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for ProcessBarron's steam turbine services and product offerings.
  • Manage the lifecycle of steam turbine products and services from concept through market deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Identify emerging industry trends, customer needs, and competitive market opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate industry developments, customer demands, and competitor capabilities.
  • Establish product roadmaps and growth initiatives that support company objectives and revenue targets.
  • Recommend new service offerings, technologies, and partnerships to expand market share.
  • Define product positioning, value propositions, and differentiators within the marketplace.

Business Development and Sales Support

  • Partner with sales teams to develop growth strategies for steam turbine-related services.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and proposal development activities.
  • Support sales personnel with technical expertise and product knowledge.
  • Assist in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with estimating and proposal teams to develop competitive solutions.
  • Support contract negotiations and project reviews.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the internal technical expert for steam turbine products and service offerings.
  • Review customer requirements and assist in developing technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on repairs, retrofits, upgrades, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on turbine maintenance strategies and service recommendations.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and help resolve technical challenges encountered during project execution.
  • Monitor industry advancements and recommend adoption of new technologies and best practices.

Customer Engagement

  • Establish trusted relationships with customers, plant personnel, engineers, and decision-makers.
  • Gather customer feedback to identify opportunities for service improvements and new offerings.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in outage planning meetings.
  • Present technical solutions and recommendations to customers.
  • Ensure customer requirements and expectations are effectively communicated throughout the organization.
  • Act as a customer advocate while balancing operational and business objectives.
  • Operations and Field Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, field service, fabrication, machining, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of steam turbine projects.
  • Support project handoff meetings and ensure alignment between sales, engineering, and operations.
  • Participate in outage planning and execution reviews.
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures, service methodologies, and best practices.
  • Evaluate field performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Maintain an active presence in the field to better understand customer challenges and operational needs.

 

Financial and Business Performance

  • Support annual revenue growth and profitability objectives for steam turbine products and services.
  • Monitor market performance and product profitability.
  • Assist leadership in forecasting sales opportunities and market demand.
  • Develop business cases for new service offerings and capital investments.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product success and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in annual strategic planning activities.

Education and Experience

Candidates should possess working knowledge of:

  • Steam turbine systems and operation
  • Rotors, blades, diaphragms, seals, bearings, casings, and valves
  • Balancing and alignment practices

Travel Requirements
