Landing Pad Start-up Support (Core)

  • Oversee the PIER71 Landing Pad — a structured soft-landing initiative enabling start-ups with promising technologies and clear commitment to access mentorship, fundraising, market entry, and ecosystem connectivity.
  • Design and iterate offerings to drive start-up growth in key areas such as revenue, capital access, team, and market expansion.
  • Analyse effectiveness of offerings against PIER71 outcomes (e.g. revenue growth, collaborations secured) and make recommendations for improvement.

Community Building

  • Maintain and evolve the start-up engagement strategy and calendar across all PIER71 initiatives; grow start-up participation in mentorship, peer learning, and ecosystem events.
  • Manage end-to-end relationships with Landing Pad start-ups, ensuring strong participation & retention rates, high satisfaction, key metrics capture, and ultimately start-up growth.
  • Support start-up onboarding/offboarding processes with Finance/Admin (documents, checklists, turnaround times).
  • Landing Pad contributor management
  • Grow and strengthen relationship with Landing Pad contributors (e.g. mentors, domain experts, consultants).
  • Convert Landing Pad contributors into active inputs (mentoring hours, office hours, workshops, connections, investor readiness support).
  • Equip and communicate regularly with Landing Pad contributors to ensure they can support effectively (e.g. materials are prepared and distributed in timely manner).

Manage regional partners and channels (Americas)

  • Build relationship and partnerships with maritime-related entrepreneurship-support organisations (ESOs) and government-linked entities via NUS Enterprise presence across both North & South America (i.e. BLOCK71 U.S.).
  • Support the market entries of international start-ups from the Americas (inbound) and market expansion of local start-ups into the same regions (outbound).

Requirements
  • 3–5 years in startup ecosystem development or a related role
  • Strong relational and communication skills to secure trust and buy-in from multiple and cross cultural stakeholders (founders, mentors, investors, institutional partners)
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to multitask from start to finish
  • Clear experience in establishing alignment and attribution between start-up support activities and organizational outcomes
  • Team player who can galvanise support for owned initiatives and reciprocate across other initiatives/functions

Advantage:

  • Familiarity with the maritime or deep-tech sector
