Job Title: Starburst Software Engineer

SUMMARY:
Starburst Software Engineers build scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and user-facing features that power Starburst Galaxy and the Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP). Engineers work closely with the creators to deliver cutting-edge solutions for data access, governance, and analytics across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for Starburst's data platform.
- Build features related to identify and access management. (IAM), data governance, and query optimization.
- Collaborate with UX, product, and security teams to deliver intuitive and secure user experiences.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and platform reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-functional planning.
- Support product systems and troubleshoot performance issues in distributed environments.
SUCCESS FACTORS
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and DevOps Practices.
- Prior experience building distributed systems or working with cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
- Understanding of data platforms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ Years of experience
